John is a native Charlottean whose roots are grounded at Charlotte Country Day School, the 10th largest independent school in the country. John received his undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (the oldest public institution in the U.S) in 1980 with a BA in History.
John joined Joint & Clutch Services' Inc. Heavy-Duty Division, a regional distributor of automotive and heavy truck parts. He rose rapidly to the position of General Manager and then Vice President guiding the company through a four-city expansion in the Carolinas adding operations in Hickory, Greensboro, Columbia and Charleston, SC. Responsible for inventory control, general operations and sales, John directed the company through a growth period that increased sales over 500% from $3.5 million to $18.5 million while increasing the employee base from 30 to 125 employees.
After the sale of Joint & Clutch Services in 1999, John enrolled in Wake Forest University's Babcock School of Management. He graduated and received his MBA in May 2001. John has been very active in the Charlotte community, having served on the boards of Johnson C. Smith University Board of Visitors, Winghaven Foundation, Johnston Memorial YMCA and Camp Thunderbird. He is currently an active member of the Charlotte Rotary Club and the Salvation Army Advisory Board.
John's extensive work experience, education, business expertise and knowledge of the industrial distribution market throughout the Carolinas makes him uniquely valuable to industries and investors seeking industrial real estate expertise.
